Two brothers die on kayak trip to Canyon Lake

Comal County authorities are investigating the deaths of two brothers from Kyle whose bodies have been found in Canyon Lake.

Sheriff's deputies say 17-year-old Tanner Earp and his 25-year-old brother Larry Earp went kayaking in the lake north of San Antonio on Saturday. Searchers went to the lake when the pair failed to return home.

Their kayaks were found about 2 a.m. Sunday and their bodies several hours later after daybreak.

Both victims were wearing life jackets but lake water temperatures had dipped into the 50s.
